NPR's Pam Fessler reports the nation's mayors are in Washington, D.C. today. Their top priority is getting more money to defend their cities against terrorism. The mayors say cities are being forced to spend at least $2.6 billion more on security. Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge assured them today that they will get more funds under the president's proposed budget, and the mayors will hear more details when they visit the White House tomorrow.
