Kidnapped Reporter
There are conflicting reports on the status of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. Police in Karachi, Pakistan say a caller purporting to represent Pearl's kidnappers said they would free him if they received $2 million and the former Taliban ambassador to Pakistan was released. However CNN said it had received an e-mail from others claiming to hold the reporter, saying he had been killed. NPR's Anne Garrels in Islamabad, Pakistan has the latest on the situation. (
