Arthur Andersen
NPR's Jackie Northam reports that it appears increasingly likely that the Arthur Andersen accounting firm will settle a criminal case with the U.S. Department of Justice. The firm was charged with obstructing justice after it admitted destroying documents from its audits of Enron. In a deal that's apparently still being negotiated, Andersen would publicly admit wrongdoing, but would avoid prosecution. The deal would allow Andersen to stay open for business. NPR's Jackie Northam reports from Chicago.
