Investment Banking Probe
NPR'S Jim Zarroli reports that federal investigators have been scrutinizing the activities of Wall Street's biggest investment banks, trying to determine whether to file fraud charges. Meanwhile, New York's Attorney General is still investigating conflict of interest issues at the banks and whether they crossed the line in handing out shares in initial public stock offerings to favored executives. One analyst says that even if the banks are eventually cleared of any wrongdoing, they are paying a high price in damage to their reputations.
