U.S. Seeks Compromise in UN
NPR's Michele Kelemen reports that the United States plans to introduce a new United Nations resolution on Iraq after being sharply criticized by nations around the globe. The United States may offer a compromise resolution in an effort to win support from France, Russia and China. Those countries want to give Iraq the opportunity to cooperate with United Nations weapons inspectors without the threat of force. (4:22)
