What Happened in Moscow Siege Rescue
NPR's Lawrence Sheets talks with host, Bob Edwards about what happened after Russian forces stormed a Moscow theater Saturday. The rescue ended a 57-hour siege by Chechen separatists. An unknown gas killed more than 100 hostages and left more than 150 hospitalized in critical condition. The operation initially was hailed as a great success, but the number of casualties could present a political problem for President Vladimir Putin.
