Kurds Risk All in Baghdad Smuggling Runs

The Kurdish-controlled Iraqi border town of Kifre relies on smuggling operations that pit Kurds against Iraqi troops. Supplies such as kerosene are purchased in Baghdad — a six-hour round trip — and carted back to Kifre. Bullet wounds and worse are a hazard of the trade. NPR's Ivan Watson reports.
