Israel approves the building of 1,000 new homes in Jewish settlements in the West Bank. The move appears to violate the U.S.-backed plan for Middle East peace, which calls for a freeze on all new settlement building. Hear NPR's Renee Montagne and NPR's Linda Gradstein.
