Congress, Spending and Intelligence Reform
Congress passed a huge omnibus spending bill over the weekend, ensuring there will be money -- for now -- to pay for everything the government is doing. Among the bill's many contents were two controversial items -- one involving abortion, another involving tax returns -- that stirred debate. In the end, the abortion funding changes went through, while the ideas of widening access to tax returns and intelligence reform both failed to pass.
