At a White House press conference, President Bush says Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz is his choice to head the World Bank. Wolfowitz was a leading advocate of the Iraq war. Current World Bank President James Wolfenson's term expires in June, and other World Bank members must ratify Wolfowitz's nomination.
