Raid Nets Scores of Militants, Iraqi General Says
Hundreds of Iraqi police commandos attacked an insurgent training camp near the city of Samarra, according to U.S. and Iraqi officials. U.S. forces provided air cover for the operation. An Iraqi general says 85 militants and 10 Iraqi police commandos were killed. He says passports at the scene show that some of the militants were from Afghanistan, Morocco and the Philippines. Insurgents say only 11 of their members were killed, according to notices that were posted on walls in Samarra and reported by Reuters.
