Republicans Trade Blows over Budget
House Republican leaders postpone a vote on a bill that would cut spending by more than $50 billion, when moderates in the party withheld their support. In the Senate, the Finance Committee couldn't muster the votes for its bill to cut taxes by almost $70 billion. The dissension among Republicans comes at -- and is perhaps being caused by -- a politically turbulent time for President Bush and the GOP.
