Don't Miss: From Trial to Campaign Trail

Faced with the worst possible public relations nightmare, some politicians refuse to go quietly into the night.

Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA) says he won't quit his House post despite bribery allegations in which the evidence includes $90,000 in cold cash found in his freezer. Jefferson hasn't been charged and denies wrongdoing.

Meanwhile in Alabama, Don Siegelman wants the governorship back. He lost it four years ago and now faces a tough opponent in the Democratic primary — Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley (campaign slogan: "I Love Lucy"). Siegelman hopes voters will set aside the fact that he's on trial on federal corruption charges. He calls the case politically motivated.

Hear the latest on the Alabama campaign trail from Kathy Lohr. As a Web bonus, she takes us aboard Siegelman's campaign bus. "We're out of trial and on the trail," the candidate jokes.
