Stepping Inside 'A Christmas Story' House in Ohio

The 1983 film A Christmas Story has emerged as a holiday movie classic. Set in the 1940s, the movie weaves timeless humor into the story of Ralphie Parker, a kid in small-town Indiana whose main goal in life is to acquire a BB gun.
But all the adults in Ralphie's life all tell him "you'll shoot your eye out, kid." And his father doesn't fare much better: a long-awaited lamp is deemed unacceptable for its post, made of a mannequin's leg clad in a fishnet-stocking.
But this year, fans of the movie who have dreamed of a close tie to the film are getting a very special gift. They'll be able to step inside A Christmas Story by visiting the house Ralphie's family lived in.
Brian Jones, a 30-year-old former U.S. Navy lieutenant, bought the house near downtown Cleveland. And he has fixed it up just like it was in the film -- right down to the leg lamp in the front window.
The Christmas Story House opens to the public today; Brian Jones discusses why he embarked on his enterprise.
