Kathy Cano Murillo, 'The Crafty Chica'
Kathy Cano Murillo is making a name for herself as "The Crafty Chica." Long known in the Phoenix Valley as a woman who can turn a simple cigar box into a beautifully decorated family memento, Murillo is now moving into the big time.
She has a new book out and is appearing on cable craft series. At the end of January, she will be the featured speaker at one the nation's largest craft and hobby conventions in California.
As James Garcia of member station KJZZ reports, Murillo's Latin-infused work is part of a growing niche in the mammoth market for craft and hobby art.
