Three years after gay marriage become legal in Massachusetts, gays and lesbians, who have come to think of themselves as counter-cultural and unconventional, are now being seen as part of the mainstream.
What happens to "gay identity" when you're getting married, dealing with a mortgage, kids, picket fences and pressure to "settle down" just like everyone else?
Some in the gay community see marriage as a sell-out and say gay culture will lose its edge. Others welcome a chance to celebrate a gay culture that is more mainstream than extreme.
