Rice, Gates Hold Talks with Arab Officials
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Defense Secretary Robert Gates had a day of talks with Arab officials in Egypt and Saudi Arabia to seek support on Iraq and to try to revive the Mideast peace process.
Major new arms deals were also on the agenda, as Washington moves to strengthen moderate Arab states against the perceived threat from Iran.
