Clinton Dominating Race for Democratic Nomination

Polls show that Hillary Clinton has a substantial lead over rival Barack Obama among Democrats. She has also out-earned him in fundraising and drawn more media attention. The former first lady has the leading poll numbers, dollars and strategy in the Democratic field.

Clinton's recent gains are due, partly, to her focus on low-dollar donors, which Obama has been focusing on all along. These gains are helping her campaign establish an aura of inevitability about her nomination.

Although Clinton is leading the field, Obama is close behind. Still, the fundraising figures were released the same day Obama was giving a major foreign policy speech, allowing Clinton to continue upstaging her rival.
