Johnny Cash, Earl Scruggs, Kate and Anna McGarrigle and son Rufus Wainwright have all performed Wainwright's songs. In addition to his album releases, he's acted on TV and penned topical songs for NPR, The New York Times and ABC's Nightline. Wainwright's new album, Strange Weirdos: Music from and Inspired by the Film Knocked Up, came out in May.
