U.S. Border Fence Made with Imported Steel

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.
Comedian Carlos Mencia jokes about that giant fence to keep out immigrants. Won't we need immigrant labor to build it? Now, lawmakers are upset that the fence includes immigrant steel. Some of the fence on the Mexican border is being built with steel from China. Lawmakers claim low-quality Chinese steel is costing American jobs, which is why Homeland Security officials have now been asked to appear before the Congressional Steel Caucus.
