SET LIST

  • "Society's Child"
  • "Silly Habits"
  • "I Hear You Sing Again"
  • "At Seventeen"

Janis Ian begins her fifth appearance on Mountain Stage with a recitation from her autobiography, named after a hit song she wrote when she was 14: "Society's Child." As you'll hear in her introduction, the song was received "loudly," because the girl at the center of the song enters into a relationship with a person of another race.
