'New York Times' Spoof Proclaims 'Iraq War Ends'
People who complain that the news is too negative got a break Wednesday. Volunteers across the country handed out copies of a paper that looked a lot like The New York Times.
The front page — dated July 4, 2009 — proclaims: "Iraq War Ends!" Articles say global warming has been fixed and public universities will be free.
The people behind the stunt include three New York Times staffers. They will remain anonymous so they don't get fired for spoofing the Gray Lady.
