There aren't enough old-fashioned hate duets these days, but U.K. garage-folk chanteuse Holly Golightly and her partner Lawyer Dave have just uncorked a doozy. Sounding for all the world like an unearthed oldie, "My 45" finds the couple volleying insults and threats with a mixture of casual ease and mirthful malice.

The sparse, bluesy stomp is a rip-roaring romp through love gone south, with Golightly and Dave trading lines before joining in on the chorus of, "When I call your name, you'd better run / You'd better hide my .45." Like Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's rendition of "Jackson," the stunt works because it revolves around the singers' feisty chemistry. It may not be pleasant when love turns sour, but it's great fun to witness when it involves pros like these.
