A.A. Bondy and his group were fresh off a European tour -- "with lots of sausage and mayonnaise," he says -- when they performed on Mountain Stage for the first time. Joined here by Ben Lester on drums and pedal-steel guitar and Thomas Macey Taylor on bass, he performs four songs from When the Devil's Loose, along with "There's a Reason" from American Hearts.

Based on the strength of his first record, the Mississippi-based Bondy was picked up as tour support for indie darlings such as The Weakerthans, Bon Iver and Cold War Kids. Before his solo records garnered recognition, Bondy appeared on Mountain Stage once as a member of Shivaree, when the group performed in 2005.

This is a repeat performance of Mountain Stage.
