There's a reason globalFEST 2011 chose to start its evening of 13 concerts with Rhythms of Rajasthan, a colorful and powerful Indian ensemble with healthy doses of passion and dance. A collaborative project from the Great Thar Desert in northwestern India, Rhythms Of Rajasthan weaves together the region's heritage through music and dance. Developed in the Langa and Manganiar communities, each musician's style has direct ties to the sounds of home.
