Colombian superstar Juanes is an immensely talented musician and inexhaustible advocate for peace in Latin America. When he plays concerts, they're usually in stadiums and large arenas, so this Tiny Desk Concert — recorded while Juanes was in Washington, D.C., to receive an award from the Hispanic Heritage Foundation — provides a rare opportunity to see him work in an intimate and unlikely venue.

In less than a decade, the songs spread over Juanes' five albums have struck a chord with millions. His infectious, smartly written blend of Colombian roots-folk and rock 'n' roll has made him a superstar throughout Latin America, Europe and the U.S. But ultimately, it's a unique combination of music and charisma that can captivate tens of thousands in a stadium or a few dozen in a busy office.

On this day, Juanes didn't disappoint — and even granted a call-out request from one of our enthusiastic colleagues for his song "Camisa Negra." It was a big day for us, so we're thrilled to share this front-row seat at a captivating performance by a legendary performer.

Set List

  • "Hoy Me Voy"
  • "Yerbatero"
  • "La Camisa Negra"
