  • "Sweet Companion"

Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Sally Barris appears on this special Mountain Stage road show, recorded live in Grand Marais, Minn., on the shore of Lake Superior. Barris has received praise throughout her career for her exploration of the Celtic roots of American country music – a trait on display throughout this performance.

Originally from Chaska, Minn., Barris has lived in Nashville for nearly 20 years. A respected and sought-after songwriter, Barris plays her tune "Let The Wind Chase You," which was recorded by Trisha Yearwood and Keith Urban and nominated for a Grammy. Barris cracks her self up when she tells the audience that she now "belongs to a very large group of people who have lost to Allison Krauss."

Barris' songs have also been recorded by Martina McBride, Lee Ann Womack, and Kellie Pickler, among others. Her most recent album (which she also produced) is Restless Soul.
