This drink highlights one of the darlings of winter — grapefruit. The tequila is light but barrel-aged, lending the cocktail a hint of smoke and citrus.
2 ounces Reposado tequila
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
3/4 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 ounce agave syrup
Splash club soda
Fresh basil (optional garnish)
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass. Shake. Strain into an oversized highball. Fill with crushed ice. Add soda, and garnish with fresh basil.
