Baauer, 'Day Ones (Feat. Novelist & Leikeli47)'

Director Hiro Murai has a keen eye for the unusual. While he's not yet a household name, you might know him from several Donald Glover projects, including music videos and the FX comedy series Atlanta. In line with Murai's previous works, the video for Baauer's song "Day Ones" dabbles in the surreal by taking a simple idea and adding a twist. In this instance, it's Revolutionary War soldiers battling it out in the parking lot of a deserted shopping mall as rappers Novelist and Leikeli47 spit aggressive verses. Somehow, through all the musket smoke, Murai creates a world where beauty lies within the madness.

Directed by Hiro Murai.
