Hometown: London, England

Genre: Americana

Why We're Excited: The chants of "Ho!" at the top of Ferris & Sylvester's "Burning River" can't help but bring to mind images of The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men and other purveyors of folk-rock uplift who dominated radio playlists at the beginning of this decade. But the London duo of Issy Ferris and Archie Sylvester also fuse that spirit with a little something extra, from bluesy guitars that storm and shimmer to unison vocals that build to a massive group sing-along. It heads straight for the brain's joy receptors, and damned if it doesn't hit its target.
