Why We're Excited: It's hard to pin down Porridge Radio's sound from song to song, or even from moment to moment: "Lilac," for example, opens as a woozily seething slow burn, only to warp and gnarl as singer Dana Margolin's reassurances ("I want you to be comfortable") grow more unsettling ("I'm kind, I'm kind, I'm kind, I'm kind, I'm kind, I'm kind"). By the time the song collapses under the weight of its accreted tension, Porridge Radio has taken a grand and bruising journey — one of many on the excellent new Every Bad.
