Why We're Excited: Born in Las Vegas, educated at Berklee and based in Nashville, Savannah Sgro is a hugely promising pro with a flair for drama and an eye toward several genres at once. In the synth-pop gem "Phobia," she exudes wounded vulnerability, aided by a bit of vocal processing that recalls Imogen Heap or Gordi — and only magnifies the depth of her torment.
