Today we are getting a sneak preview of some of the songs on The Jayhawks new album XOXO, which comes out July 10. You'll hear full band performances as well as an interview with The Jayhawks' bandleader, Gary Louris. We talk about how The Jayhawks mixed up its songwriting process and dig into some of Gary's collaborations with other people, including the newly renamed trio The Chicks, who you might know better as Dixie Chicks. We recorded this conversation before The Chicks changed its name, so that's how you'll hear us refer to the band. Let's get started with a live performance of "This Forgotten Town from The Jayhawks' forthcoming album, XOXO.
