It's been just six months since the Chicago rapper Juice WRLD died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 21 years old and had released two acclaimed albums, emerging as a leading voice in the emo rap scene. This week his family announced Juice WRLD's first posthumous album, called Legends Never Die. We give a listen on this week's New Music Friday, talk about why his music was so loved and consider his legacy. We've also got new music this week from the crooner Rufus Wainwright, a soaring rock record from singer Margo Price, new My Morning Jacket, Julianna Barwick and more. Nate Chinen of WBGO and Jazz Night in America is joined by NPR Music's Robin Hilton, John Morrison, host of XPN's Culture Cypher Radio and the podcast Serious Rap S***, NPR Music's Ann Powers and Stephen Thompson as they share their picks for the best releases out on July 10.
