The Great Fridge Freeze-Out

The pandemic upended the supply chain for all the things you'd expect people to hoard during a health emergency lockdown: Toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, canned goods and baking products. And then there were the things you might not expect, like refrigerators, freezers and all sorts of other in-home appliances.
The supply chain for those kinds of goods was so badly broken that, six months into the pandemic, it's still hard to get your hands on a refrigerator or a dishwasher.
Alina Selyukh from NPR's Business Desk joined The Indicator to talk about changes in spending habits, supply chain complications and Labor Day sales.
