The color of the walls, what posters you had up, the pictures and trinkets and toys and memories you surrounded yourself with? When you were young, your bedroom might have been the first space that was really YOURS, a place where you could be yourself and express yourself. That's definitely true for my guest in this session.
Beabadoobee was born in the Philippines and raised in London – and while she's now a young adult, she still does most of her writing in her childhood bedroom. It's where she wrote the songs on her latest album, Fake It Flowers, and it's where she was when she joined World Cafe for a session in front of a virtual live audience not too long ago. You'll hear our conversation about her career so far and some of those songs, – performed in the same room she wrote them in.
