Nick Thorburn is always up to something and on the go. He first made a name for himself in the early 2000s as a member of indie rock band The Unicorns. Recently, he's been writing theme music for podcasts, too — like the popular investigative journalism podcast Serial.

Thorburn returns to the world of indie rock with Islands, the band that originally succeeded The Unicorns. Last June, after five years, Islands released Islomania.

In this episode, we speak to Nick Thorburn about why he feels the constant urge to create, including what inspired him to bring Islands back for another album. Listen to the conversation and performance via the audio player above.
