Jade Bird is in a pretty great place right now. She moved across the Atlantic from her native Britain to reside in the States, in Austin, Texas. It was there that she recorded with producer Dave Cobb at RCA Studio B. She got engaged to her longtime bandmate and partner, Lucky Kilmartin. Oh, and she adpoted a pandemic puppy!

Her new album, Different Kinds of Light, really puts a spotlight on Bird as a lyricist, exploring what it's like to fall in love. Much like Bird in real life, the songs are accessible, thoughtful and nuanced. She has a gift as a singer-songwriter to write in a universal way. It comes across in our chat as well.
