Courtesy of the artistFor decades, Tom Morello has brought his otherworldly guitar technique and sound to other genres: Electronic music groups like the Prodigy sampled his riffs. He's played with members of Cypress Hill and Public Enemy. And for the past few years his latest project, The Atlas Underground, has had him making a 21st-century gumbo of pop, hip-hop, electronic music and, yes, rock and roll.
His latest two albums are Fire and Flood, featuring a dizzying number of guest appearances, including Nathaniel Rateliff, Chris Stapleton, X Ambassadors, Phantogram, Eddie Vedder and Bruce Springsteen.
We talk about the Atlas Underground and its album's incredible guest lists, but first we start with — what else? — a taste of the music.
