The Indicator's bet on the Super Bowl
Since the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a federal ban on sports betting in 2018, the activity has grown into a multibillion dollar industry that is legal in more than 30 states. Sportsbooks now offer all sorts of games, promotions, and propositions for those looking to get in on the action — and that was on full display in the lead up to yesterday's Super Bowl.
Today, we talk with Rufus Peabody, a professional sports bettor and analyst, about the economics and psychology of sports betting, and why the Super Bowl isn't just a big day for football fans, but also for gamblers. Also, we placed a bet of our own. Find out how we did.
