Kristian Dowling/Getty ImagesFor each week of February this year, in honor of Black History Month, World Cafe correspondent John Morrison is revisiting the stories and work of Black innovators in rock and roll; the artists who invented and re-invented rock, decade after decade.
Today Morrison brings us into the new millennium, exploring music from the 2000s including that of Santigold who, John says, has a unique way of combining rock with many other genres. As he puts it:
African music, Caribbean music, electronic music, hip-hop, dub. She is kind of like the poster child of post-millennial eclecticism.
