Oftentimes on The Indicator, we present big economic numbers and what they mean in the world. Indicators like the unemployment rate, gross domestic product, and budget expenditures will often have numbers in the millions and trillions of dollars which can be hard to fully grasp.

Today, we've invited Karla Starr, co-author of the book Making Numbers Count, to talk us through some tips and tricks on how to bring these numbers down to a level that we can all understand.
