This week's show kicks off with a scorcher from the groundbreaking reggae artist Horace Andy. He's teamed up with the living legend and producer Adrian Sherwood on a song called "Feverish." Up next, I've got the ever-adventurous sounds of The Comet is Coming. The trio of saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings, electronic artist Danalogue, and drummer-producer Betamax have a trippy song called "TECHNICOLOUR," from their soon-to-be-released album called Hyper-Dimensional Expansion Beam.

An artist that's new to me on this week's show is Very Very, with a song called "Strange Occasion," which deals with the grief of her mom's battle with cancer.

A current favorite for many of us at NPR Music is the Oregon-based singer Anna Tivel. I play the title track to her just-released album Outsiders.

Winter is the music of Samira Winter, and the dreamy song I have on this week's show features the voice of SASAMI. The album is produced by SASAMI's brother, Joo-Joo Ashworth. I can't get enough of the song — it's called "good."

I close out the show with my favorite new folk band called Mama's Broke. The Canadian duo mixes banjo, fiddle, guitar, and thoughtful lyrics and harmony on a song filled with the wisdom of hindsight called "How It Ends."
