I begin this week's All Songs Considered with new music from The Tallest Man on Earth. His new song, "Every Little Heart," repeats a theme I often hear regarding the pandemic and creativity. In this case, Kristian Matsson had to find a way out of his depression and rediscover the daydreamer deep inside to create the new music for his next album coming in April, Henry St.

British-born now New York-based singer Fenne Lily found herself writing a song about the end of love before it even arrives. That song, "Lights Light Up," is not a rose-tinted reflection.

The band Yo La Tengo has been making music for nearly four decades and still has a creative spark that often arrives out of the group's jam sessions. The tune I'll play is a drone-filled affair from their new album This Stupid World, titled, "Tonight's Episode."

Youth in a Roman Field is the project of Claire Wellin, who plays violin and sings in the band San Fermin. I play her new song "It'll Pass" from the album Get Caught Trying. Next, you'll hear "Godzilla" from the artist Nanna. Speaking of monsters, you may know her as the singer and guitarist in the band Of Monsters and Men. This delicate tale was recorded in a quiet space in Reykjavík, Iceland. My final favorite of the week comes from Norway and the artist Juni Habel. Much like Nanna, the musical approach is gentle but her song, "Rhythm of the Tides," carries much weight.
