This year's nominees for Best Picture cover a wide range of genres, from the dizzying science fiction adventure film Everything Everywhere All At Once, to a dark Irish tragicomedy The Banshees of Inisherin, to a big-budget fighter jet sequel Top Gun: Maverick.
There's a lot riding on these awards, as the film industry and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences fight to remain relevant. This week on Up First Sunday, we turn to our friends at Pop Culture Happy Hour for a deep dive into the Best Picture Category and a chat about what's really at stake for Hollywood.
