Loud neighbors can be a nightmare, but they can also be a blessing. That was the case for Say She She, the seven-piece Brooklyn band whose origin story involved thin apartment walls and lots of late-night singing.

The band is led by vocalists Piya Malik, Sabrina Mileo Cunningham and Nya Gazelle Brown, and they play a fusion of R&B, disco, soul and psychedelic music. The harmonies are incredible, and the music shines, bounces and grooves throughout their debut album, Prism. In this session, Malik joins us to retell the band's origin story and talk about the making of Prism.
