When Hozier found himself with some downtime during the pandemic, he did what a lot of people did: He kept up on the news, which was, at times, pretty frightening and upsetting. He poured all of that into a new album called Unreal Unearth, which is due out later this year.

To tease that record, Hozier recently dropped an EP called Eat Your Young. In this session, we catch up with Hozier (on this birthday, no less) to talk about how the things he was reading helped him make sense of what was happening, both in the world at large and personally.
