"Be water, my friend."

Bruce Lee's words, from his now-iconic interview on The Pierre Berton Show in 1971, have stuck with Margaret Glaspy.

The singer-songwriter has come up with her own version of the mantra.

" 'Echo the diamond' is a command to me," she says. "It's shine bright, echo the diamond. Be like the diamond."

Echo The Diamond is also the title of her new album. It's a step away from the electronic influences on 2020's Devotion, and the interplay between Glaspy, drummer Dave King and bassist Chris Morrissey packs a punch.

In this session, Glaspy talks about being present, her study of Buddhism, and accepting the audience for who they are. She talks about Alanis Morissette's musical influence, Bruce Lee's philosophy, and the power of calling off the search and just being there.
