Now on Sale: Planet Money Live: A Superhero... and Musical!

April 20, 2022 - Washington D.C. NPR's Planet Money is teaming up with some of New York's most talented musical theater performers for a live podcast taping and the world premiere of a musical on May 10, 2022 in Brooklyn at Roulette at 8pm.
Planet Money hosts Kenny Malone and Robert Smith (with special guests Mary Childs and Amanda Aroncyzk) will bring fans along for the latest – and wildest – chapter in "Planet Money Buys a Superhero," a five-part experiment in superhero economics. In the show's signature narrative economic storytelling style, Kenny and Robert will delve into the bonkers world of collectibles and give fans never-before-heard insights from their quest to acquire and relaunch Micro-Face, a forgotten 1940s superhero with audio superpowers.
Act II of the evening, a twist Planet Money truly never predicted, will see some of New York City's most talented performers present the world premiere of Micro-Face: The Musical, written by award-winning, international musical theater composer and librettist Kit Goldstein Grant.
Staged as a concert performance and recorded live for the Planet Money podcast, the audience will become part of the story and the musical. But don't worry: We'll leave the singing to the professionals during this evening of superheroes, singing, and singing superheroes!!!
Tickets are available now via the event's website. With special edition comics included with select tickets, attendees can choose to take a piece of the show home if they'd like.
