February 1, 2023; Washington, D.C.-- After a nationwide search, Adrienne Brown has been named NPR's new Vice President of Development Operations and Services. Brown's first day will be February 27.
In this role, Brown will be at the forefront of advancing organizational change that will foster fundraising growth. This position was identified as mission critical as NPR continues the development and execution of the NPR Network donation option for its audience. Brown will serve as a member of the Development Division's leadership team and report to Chief Development Officer Leora Hanser.

Brown and her team will lead the strategic delivery of efficient fundraising platforms and processes to advance NPR philanthropy. In addition, she will provide direction and oversight in Digital Fundraising, including the NPR Network digital fundraising program, and for the Annual Fund, and Development Operations.

Adrienne Brown has over 16 years of experience in fundraising and development. Prior to joining NPR, she was the Assistant Vice President of Annual Giving and Engagement Strategy at New York University (NYU). During her time there, Brown served as the primary visionary and architect behind numerous successful digital fundraising campaigns. She was also at the helm of the NYU Emergency Fund, which raised funds for students who faced urgent and emergent needs due to the pandemic. Furthermore, Brown implemented NYU's first centralized philanthropic strategic plan that centered on launching initiatives to create a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive society.
Additionally, she brings a strong understanding of broad-based outreach, having worked on award-winning loyalty and membership marketing campaigns for major corporations such as American Express, UnitedHealthcare, and General Motors.
Brown has a bachelor's degree in corporate communications from Michigan State University and a masters in higher education administration from NYU. She also holds certifications in Digital Data Analytics from NYU Stern School of Business and Inclusive Philanthropy from Florida International University.
